Interactive Jewish Social Events in NYC

Not every night with Shabbat Club is a seat at a long table. Some nights you're in a bathhouse with your phone in a locker. Some nights you've got a microphone. One weekend a year, you're on a bus to the Poconos. Shabbat Club is a culturally Jewish pop-up dinner party series and community in New York City, but the dinners are only part of it — this page is about the rest: the sweaty, loud, hands-on side of the club.

If you're looking for something more active than another apartment party or another swipe-based meetup, here's what we run beyond the Friday table.

Shvitz Club: Steam, Then Snacks

An old ritual with a new crowd. We take over the bathhouse, sweat it out together, and finish with something to eat. Phones stay in the locker, which is most of the point. It's one of the more physical, unplugged formats we run — no seating chart, no small talk pressure, just a room of people doing the same uncomfortable thing at the same time.

Karaoke Nights

Shabbat Club Karaoke hands you the mic when the room is ready for it. Less structured than a dinner, louder than a happy hour — this is the format for people who'd rather perform their way into a conversation than make small talk over a bar top.

Almost Shabbat: Happy Hours and Late Nights

No seating chart, no dinner course. A bar, a room, and a few hundred people who found their way here through the same group chat. Come after work, stay as long as the playlist holds. This is the highest-energy, lowest-commitment way to show up.

Summer Sessions

Warm-weather parties that move the club outdoors and into a more party-first format. Part of the year-round rotation alongside the dinners, the Shvitz, and karaoke.

Camp Weekend in the Poconos

The most interactive format we run: a full weekend away from the city. Next up is Wet Hot Hebrew Summer, the camp weekend upstate, Sept 4–6. This is the format for people who want more than one night — a whole weekend of the same community, off-site.

Volunteer Nights and Trips

Not every active night is a party. We also run volunteer nights and trips for people who want to show up and do something with the same crowd they'd otherwise be sitting next to at a dinner.

How to Get Into Any of These

Shabbat Club doesn't run on membership cards or open ticket sales. Every gathering — Shvitz Club, karaoke, Almost Shabbat, camp weekend, all of it — has its own application, tied to that specific event's link on the events calendar. We read every application by hand, because every room is capped so it stays a room, not a crowd.
